The office was unusually quiet that morning. Aisha adjusted her files, her eyes fixed on the clock as if it was racing faster than her heartbeat. She had only been here a few days, yet every time she stepped into Arhan’s cabin, her pulse betrayed her.
He was already there, in a dark suit, flipping through documents. His presence filled the room effortlessly. Without looking up, he said in his deep voice—
“Coffee?”
Aisha blinked. “For you or for me, sir?”
Finally, his eyes lifted, locking on hers with a teasing glint. “For both. I want to know if you can handle work and coffee at the same time.”
She pressed her lips together, hiding a smile. “I’ll try not to disappoint you.”
As she moved towards the door, Arhan’s gaze followed her—calm on the surface, but burning beneath. He had already asked one of his men to dig into her background. Was she single? Did she have someone waiting for her outside this office? The thought of her belonging to another man… he couldn’t tolerate it.
Minutes later, when she returned with two cups, his phone buzzed. A short message lit the screen:
“No records of any boyfriend. She lives alone.”
Arhan’s lips curved into the faintest smirk as he accepted the coffee from her hands.
“Perfect,” he murmured.
Aisha frowned. “Did I make it right?”
His eyes lingered on her just a second too long. “More than right.”
She looked away quickly, trying to hide the sudden warmth on her cheeks. What she didn’t notice was the small earpiece hidden in her bag—a reminder of the secret mission she could never let him discover.
And what Arhan didn’t know was that the girl he was slowly claiming as his… was playing a dangerous game of her own.
